Seeking balance?  I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with women, men, couples, and adolescents. You may struggle with situations and issues in your life including but not limited to coping with emotions, thinking poorly of yourself, a traumatic event or experiencing frustration in relationships. Therapy, to me, is a collaborative process in which one is able to reflect on thought processes, emotional states, roles in a system, and ineffective behaviors while in a safe and secure environment. I try to create a collaborative alliance with my clients that allows them to understand themselves better and find balance.  I use a mindfulness-based approach: the practice of being present in the current moment non-judgmentally of self. I may ask you to challenge yourself, reflect on perspective, or develop alternatives, but I will not push, judge, or tell you what to do. The power to heal is within you.

I work with a wide range of clients, however I thoroughly enjoy working with women struggling to find balance, managing stress, and striving to identify themselves or their purpose.  I believe that we go through milestones or moments in our lives that we must navigate.  Sometimes we do so successfully using the tools that have worked for us in the past.  Sometimes we feel stuck and need to learn new ways of coping and problem solving to overcome obstacles.  I appreciate being present with clients who allow me to join in the journey of discovery.  I am honored by it.

While I was born and raised in Atlanta, GA, I attended the University of Arizona in Tucson where I obtained my Bachelors of Fine Arts in Dance and my Bachelors of Arts in Creative Writing.  After living in San Francisco for a couple of years, I traveled back to Phoenix, AZ to work as a chiropractor's assistant.  I believed I wanted to be a physical therapist due to my dance background.  I found, curiously, that my clients would open up to me and discuss intimate details of their lives.  At this time, I realized that I did not want to be a physical therapist; I wanted to be a therapist of the mind, body, and spirit.  So I changed career paths and obtained my Masters in Social Work from Arizona State University.

My practice is built on the keystone of "Balance".  I have pieced together my life experiences from dance, teaching, physical therapy, cultural exposure, social work, advocacy, and search for overall well-being to create a system for my clients.  I treat the whole person: body, mind, spirit, emotion, behaviors, relationships, etc. Through considering the mind-body connection, I assist my clients to look at the whole picture of their lives and strive to become their best self.
